BuildCasa is one of Fast Company’s Most Innovative Companies of 2024!

After just one year of operations, we were delighted and honored to find ourselves in the #4 spot on Fast Company’s Most Innovative Companies list in the Urban Development and Real Estate category. 

BuildCasa has a simple mission: Build 100,000 homes. By now, we've created over a hundred new units of housing pipeline in our home state of California. We’ve helped homeowners split and sell their backyards to build new, context-appropriate homes in neighborhoods in Sacramento. This year, we’re expanding our sights to San Diego, San Jose, and Riverside, where the very first lot splits are underway. 

We know our work is key to easing the housing crisis, and it’s exciting to see Fast Company recognize how our innovation can bring the starter home back from the brink of extinction. It’s especially heartening to see a theme among fellow honorees like Gensler and Hines: growing sustainable cities that more people can call home. We’re committed to building out the “missing middle” in cities and making homeownership more attainable, and we’re thrilled to be recognized alongside others who share that value.
